BRANCH ASSISTANT, WEB GRAPHICS (BA-AWCG)

In addition to General Duties, the Branch Assistant, Web Graphics (BA-AWCG) under the general direction and supervision of the Branch Chief - Web Content Manager (BC-AWC),

shall have the following responsibilities:

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of web-based graphics for the Public Affairs Directorate website.
  • Work closely with the Division Chief of Web Services and Branch Chief AUXPA Webmaster to assist in the development of website design concepts, graphics, and layouts that meet the requirements of the A-Directorate.
  • Develop creative and visually appealing graphics, illustrations, typography,
  • images, and other design elements for web page use.
  • Create designs including website banners, headers, and other graphics for web-based content and articles.
  • Attend scheduled meetings as requested.
  • Provide a brief, monthly report.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Willing to achieve and/or maintain a Coast Guard Auxiliary Public Affairs Specialist – Level III or higher qualification for the duration of service as a BA.
  • Proficiency in any type of graphic design or raster graphics editing software (such as Adobe Creative Suite, Gimp, Canva, etc.) to produce graphics for the web.
  • Basic experience in website design with knowledge of HTML and overall general web design a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet requested deadlines with attention to detail.
