Branch Assistant, Strategic Partnerships (BA-APS)

 

Job purpose

Responsible for the support of the Branch Chief, Strategic Partnerships, in the negotiation, coordination, and management of inter-agency events with other Directorates, Districts, Divisions, and Flotillas for the following Auxiliary programs: National Safe Boating Week, Youth Programs, Color Guard, Auxiliary Music, and any special project assigned to them by the Director of A-Directorate. Strategic Partnerships works closely with other divisions within the Public Affairs Directorate to oversee the implementation of public presentations, demonstrations, speaking engagements, and showings.

Branch Assistant, Strategic Partnerships (BA-APS)

Duties and responsibilities

  • Support of the Auxiliary Music Program and advises the updating of the policy of Auxiliary Music as well as assists in National aspects of this District program.
  • Support of the National level National Safe Boating Week as it relates to public affairs in conjunction with the Recreational Boating Directorate.
  • Support of the Auxiliary Color Guard/Honor Guard program and advises the updating of the policy of Auxiliary Color Guard/Honor Guard as well as assists in National aspects of this District program.
  • Support at the National level any and all mascot program (Coastie, Sammy the Sea Otter, PFD Panda, etc.) as it relates to public affairs in conjunction with all levels of the Auxiliary.
  • Support of the Youth Programs such as Sea Scouts.
  • Under the immediate supervision of the BC-APN work assigned special assignments as requested by the Director of the A-Directorate.
  • Under the immediate supervision of the BC-APN submit assigned reports and respond to communications in a timely manner within deadlines.
  • Provide the BC-APN with monthly reports.
  • Perform other specific duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience Color Guards/Honor Guards, Youth Programs, National Safe Boating Week, Coastie program, and Auxiliary Music.
  • Successful complete any and all youth protection training courses provided by the Auxiliary and the U.S. Coast Guard.
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and personal sales skills.
  • Demonstrated successful experience executing initiatives.
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and email clients.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
