BRANCH ASSISTANT-EDITORIAL PROOFREADING (BA-BREP)

 

In addition to General Duties, the Branch Assistant-Editorial Proofreading, under the general direction and supervision of the Branch Chief-Editorial Services (BC-BRE), shall have the following responsibilities:

  • Assist the BC-BRE in editing the newsletter RBS: Job One, which communicates the programs and activities of all directorates assigned to the assistant national commodore for Recreational Boating Safety (ANACO-RB): Recreational Boating Safety Outreach (B), Public Education (E), and Vessel Examinations and Partner Visitations (V).
  • Ensure articles are journalistic, following The Associated Press STYLEBOOK and Libel Manual.
  • Before publishing, ensure that the entire newsletter is thoroughly proofread.
  • Write articles as needed.
  • Attend scheduled meetings as requested.
  • Perform related duties and other tasks as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Experience with journalistic writing.

  • AUXPA 1, 2, or 3 or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with graphic design and Adobe InDesign.
  • A passion for Recreational Boating Safety.
