  • Ensure that all Directorate documents are properly formatted before uploading to the DMS platform. Return any document to NEXCOM/ANACOs that is not properly formatted.
  • Create any necessary document folders to properly segment respective documents within each Directorate drawer.
  • Refer inquiries/questions regarding stored documents within the DMS platform to their respective ANACO or Director/Deputy Director.
  • Branch Assistant Supervision - Supervise the work of Branch Assistant.
  • Assist the Branch Assistants in evaluating and updating policies, procedures, forms and publications as needed.
  • Have a scheduled meeting (on-line or phone call) with the Branch Assistants on a monthly basis.
  • Obtain a brief, written, monthly report from each Branch Assistant.
  • Provide monthly activity reports to the Division Chief, Technical Support.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to access, run and export a previously saved AUXDATA report.

  • Coordinate content creation, submissions to, and editing with Auxiliary publications, including the Boating Safety Outreach (B) Directorate’s RBS Job One publications staff.
  • Regularly report to the Division Chief – Communications with successes and difficulties of program management.
  • Assist the Division Chief in creating the scope and responsibilities of the Branch Chief office

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in copywriting and written marketing.
  • Creative skills across different written standards for online, long-form, and social media.
  • Ability to adhere to the Associated Press Stylebook and Auxiliary Public Affairs Manual, as well as working knowledge of uniform and grooming standards.
  • Skill in appropriate software, including PDFs, word processing (e.g. Microsoft Word) and desktop publishing (e.g. Microsoft Publisher or Adobe InDesign).

  • Develop training to enhance the ability of flotillas, divisions, and districts to promote the Coast Guard Auxiliary’s RBS message.
  • Coordinate with the Coast Guard Auxiliary’s Public Affairs (A) Directorate to select, assemble, compose, and layout RBS publicity materials and information and release same through appropriate communication media, including brochures, flyers, posters, newspaper articles, radio and television releases, websites, social media, and other miscellaneous Coast Guard Auxiliary communications media.
