Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic certificate in Geography, GIS, Geospatial Science, Emergency Management, or a related field. Minimum of one year of experience in GIS analysis and management. Strong proficiency in GIS software, particularly ESRI products or QGIS (open-source software). Familiarity with the Everbridge Mass Notification System and certification is highly desirable. Practical communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, especially in emergency response scenarios. Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.

Overall Responsibility: The Branch Chief – Foundational Learning (Strategy & Readiness) will work with the DVC-TD to examine and develop training strategies to support the training needs of all Coast Guard Auxiliary directorates. The BC-TDR, through the DVC-TD, will work with internal and external training stakeholders to analyze training requirements, identify training priorities, and evaluate established training strategies to validate alignment with desired training outcomes. The BC-TDR will ensure that training programs reflect current U.S. Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary policies, procedures, and practices and that they meet the requirements of the target audience served by the training.
Term of Office: Appointment starts and expires with the term of the National Director, the appointing leader, with the approval of the National Commodore (NACO)
