SUBJ: 2021 STUDENT ART CONTEST WINNERS
1. I am pleased to announce the winners of, and congratulate all
students who participated in, the 2021 Student Art Contest. This
activity is co-sponsored by the U.S. Coast Guard, the North American
Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA), and the Inter-
American Committee on Ports of the Organization of American States
(CIP-OAS). Annually, these organizations invite students in grades
K-12 throughout the Americas to create posters on a theme related to
the marine environment. This year's theme is "Seafarers: At the Core
of Shipping's Future."
2. Congratulations to the following winning artists:

3. The contest winners' works of art will be featured on line for

The two grand prize winners will each receive a certificate,
a bilingual (English and Spanish) calendar featuring the art of all
12 finalists, a $100 cash prize and a special Coast Guard-themed
package. Finalists will receive a certificate and the bilingual
calendar.
4. Coast Guard Partnership in Education (PIE) Coordinators across
the Service encouraged and supported the participation of students
within their local communities. I commend these Coordinators for
their support of PIE initiatives that encourage academic achievement
and increase awareness of Coast Guard missions, people and values.
