Kidde Fire Extinguisher Recall
To: All VEs, PVs and boat owners
There is a recall of Kidde Fire Extinguishers.
All fire extinguishers in the recall will have a BLACK PLASTIC VALVE. If there is not a black plastic valve, it is not a unit being recalled. Proceed to examine the fire extinguishers on the vessels as normally preformed. Check gauges, hoses and check for damage to the unit.

Units with BLACK PLASTIC VALVES should be checked to verify if they are included in the recall! Below are models and date stamp information. Kidde will replace any defective units and should be contacted directly. Description
This recall involves 31 models of Kidde disposable fire extinguishers with Zytel® black plastic valves. The recalled extinguishers are red, white or silver and are either ABC or BC rated. The ratings can be found to the right of the nameplate. Manufacture dates included in the recall are July 23, 2013 through October 15, 2014. A 10-digit date code is stamped on the side of the cylinder, near the bottom.
